YouTube’s movie chapters could soon receive a time-saving AI update. The streaming giant recently began testing utilizing machine learning to automatically insert chapters to movies.

The Business Declared the trial Around the YouTube test Attributes and experiments Webpage of Their Google Support Site:

We want to make it easier for people to navigate videos with video chapters, so we are experimenting with automatically adding video chapters (so creators don’t have to manually add timestamps). We’ll use machine learning to recognize text in order to auto generate video chapters. We’re testing this out with a small group of videos

The machine might be a welcome addition to movie chapters, which YouTube rolled out to founders in May.

The characteristic makes it possible for creators to split videos up to segments with their own personal previews. Viewers can then jump right to the section they wish to watch.

YouTube states that if chapters are empowered, audiences watch more of this movie and therefore are more inclined to return to it.

But founders currently need to manually insert the timestamps for their own video descriptions. Auto-generating the chapters will save them the problem — provided that it arouses the material efficiently.
