Social media is a great tool to help develop your business and every business owner should be taking advantage of various platforms.

However, there are many sides to the social media marketing game, many different strategies you could use, and many different ways of approaching these.

It all depends on you, your business, and your marketing needs. When it comes down to it though, here are five different social media marketing tactics to make sure you try out.

Paid Posts

If you want to expand your reach, then using paid, sponsored posts on Facebook and Instagram is the way to go. This feature allows you to select very specific audiences and demographics to send your advertising out to.

Make sure that you use the perfect ad to grab someone’s attention. You can use online design tools to create Facebook ads and even gorgeous Instagram ads which you can then sponsor and promote to whoever needs to see them.

Video Ads

Short-form content is king right now – TikToks, Instagram reels, Facebook videos, YouTube videos, and even videos on Instagram stories are the most viewed and engaged content online at the moment. Video creators are taking the world by storm, and you need to get on board.

Video advertising might not be your forte, but it’s worth a shot if it’s going to grab your audience’s attention. Try review videos, product launch videos, or even fun content like behind-the-scenes videos and live streams.

Use Stories

There are plenty of ways you can use Instagram stories to grow your business and engage with your audience. ‘Stories’ is statistically one of the most used features on the app in 2022, and many users report barely scrolling down their normal feed anymore, rather than opting to watch stories.

Businesses can use this feature to engage with their audience on a much more personal level. Use polls, question boxes and the ‘swipe up’ link feature as much as you can.

Influencer Marketing

There’s a lot to learn about influencer marketing. This role has grown over the past few years, and now, some people are full-time influencers and content creators who demand serious pay for their work.

Every influencer and brand ambassador will have different rates and styles of work, so it’s important that you find someone (or a few someones) who aligns with your brand and also your budget. Some influencers are happy to promote your brand in exchange for free samples, so start there. That being said, this is one of the biggest and fastest-growing marketing strategies out there right now.

Affiliate Marketing

Another option you can try out is launching an affiliate program. This is somewhat like unofficial influencer marketing and is a big trend on social media in 2022.

Companies that launch an affiliate program allow anyone to promote for their followers to purchase their products through the affiliate link. In this way, the affiliate marketer gets a small percentage of your profit, and you get “free” reach and marketing. This often works well for bigger companies.
