Important Note: Walmart.com no longer provides credit card services anymore. This includes Walmart Rewards Card and Walmart Rewards Mastercard.

In 1999, Walmart credit card services were initiated to the people of the United States in partnership with Synchrony Financial (then known as GE Capital).

At that time, credit cards can only be utilized within Walmart stores or its affiliates. Over the years, Walmart expanded its credit card program to include a Mastercard option, allowing for use outside of Walmart stores.

Due to legal disputes, Walmart ended their partnership with Synchrony in 2018 and a year later, Walmart transitioned to Capital One for its credit card program.

Where it launched the Walmart Rewards Mastercard and Walmart Rewards Card with enhanced cashback offerings.

Unfortunately, In May 2024, Walmart and Capital One announced the end of their exclusive agreement.

Therefore, as of now, Walmart has not yet announced a new banking partner for its credit card program.
