Twitter Suffers a Major Leak

Twitter said that a portion of its source code was leaked online. The legal finding stated that the postings infringe copyrights held by the company.

Twitter issued a subpoena to GitHub, where a user namely "FreeSpeechEnthusiast" shared excerpts of Twitter's source code without permission.

GitHub complied to Twitter's request, and removed the code  the same day, company confirmed to CNBC. 

Twitter requested U.S. District Court to order Github to reveal the identities of the users who have posted, accessed, and downloaded the leaked code.

Elon Musk previously stated that the code that recommends tweets would be open-sourced on March 31.  

A recent report suggested  Twitter's valuation is at around $20 billion which is less than half of which Musk has purchased Twitter

About 75 percent of Twitter's 7,500 employees have been laid off since October when Mr. Musk purchased Twitter for $44Billion.
